How To Develop A Proactive Personality

Being proactive is a pillar of spiritual growth and meaningful development.  Proactive people are more successful than reactive people because they always believe in taking action, understand their responsibilities and never blame others.

Proactive people always believe in taking initiative

So, let’s understand the characteristics, responsibilities, and thought process of proactive people. 

1. Responsible for behavior, result and growth

Proactive people take the responsibility for everything that happens in their life. 

They never blame other people, circumstances, condition. On other hand, reactive people always blame other people for their result, growth. 

A proactive person uses positive language like I can do it, I will do it, I have done this. 

But reactive people use negative language like I can’t do it, I will do it if and only if, etc. means reactive people give reasons for their failure and never try again once they failed. 

But we have heard from Elon Musk that “Failure is an option”. Proactive people learn from their failure and bounce back. They never stop trying until it’s done.

Future Oriented

Proactive people are future-oriented. They always ready to handle potential issues that arise in the future and being aware of possible future changes

Because they do not plan at last movement, they are already prepared for it. 

For example- If they know that you have to attend the meeting in Dubai in the future. So, you already start preparing for it rather than prepare one day before the meeting.

Also, you make prior arrangements for VISA, passport, and other documents.

Proactive people learn new skills, invests in assets by considering the future need. They always try to implement new thing that this will help them in future.

Planning

Proactive people plan for every small activity. They always take care of day-day to activities and maintain their to-do list. 

They prioritize their work, which is doing important work first and less important at last. Also, planning helps them to achieve their goals within the time period. 

When you break your goals into small tasks and complete these tasks on daily basis, you can easily analyze your progress and take decisions according to it.

Improvement and Opportunity

Improvement is the key factor; you cannot do the same mistake again and again. 

Proactive people more focus on improvement, learning new skills, update their knowledge, etc. 

Once you improve/update yourself according to the situation or market need then there are lots of opportunities are waiting for you. 

This is where proactive people differentiate themselves from other people. 

Reactive people never try different things. 

Once they settled, they stick to the specific task/job or skills and then don’t explore new technology because they are afraid to take risks and try new things.

Proactive people focus on solutions instead of problems. They figure out what is problem and work on finding a solution for it. 

When it comes to responding to the people, they communicate calmly and effectively but never take the decision in hurry. They knew that “Good Communication Leads To A Great Life

Most of the time reactive people make decisions in hurry and jump to negative conclusions. And this thing affects their future result. 

Have clear Goals and Vision

Goal and vision

Having clear goals and vision help proactive people to stay on track. So, your goals should be big but achievable. 

For example- Launching a new startup, learning new skills, submitting a business plan, etc. 

Your vision and goals drive you what you do in your daily task.

You can improve and maintain your vision and goals by setting up milestones because milestones motivate you and give you reward once you complete task.

Also, console with someone who has done this before. This will help you to achieve your goals easily and avoid some difficult traps while achieving your goals. 

You can surround yourself with people who are passionate about the same thing that you are doing. It will keep you motivate and energetic
